After several years of not visiting the concerts, my wife took me to the biggest concert I have ever experienced, totalling 50.000 visitors. We let the tourist agency take care of everything – from the transportation by bus to the tickets. The latter proved to be a fatal mistake, we were seated on the second floor where we did have a nice view to the beautifully set-up stage, but the sound was mediocre. We have sworn not to seat on a rock concert ever again!
A month before the concert, AC/DC announced Axl Rose will replace their singer Brian Johnson, whose doctors advised him to either quit performing live or face total hearing loss. A lot of AC/DC fans didn’t take the change lightly but for a Guns N’ Roses fan, like myself, this was a dream come true! Prior to the announcement, Axl also had an injury, he sustained a fracture in one of the bones in his left foot. With his leg immobilized, he had to sit during his first concerts. Luckily, by the time AC/DC came to Vienna, Axl was mostly on his feet and in good spirits.
